United Democratic Front (India) : ウィキペディア英語版 | United Democratic Front (India) The United Democratic Front (UDF) is an alliance of political parties in Kerala state, India, created by the prominent Indian National Congress (INC) party leader Shri. K. Karunakaran in the 1970s.〔(Who was K Karunakaran? - NDTV )〕 Since its formation, the coalition has sustained itself on support from different social, caste and religious groups as a powerful bloc to take on the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI (M)) led Left Democratic Front (LDF). This alliance is led by the INC party in the state of Kerala. the UDF is the ruling coalition in the state of Kerala having won a majority in the 2011 Kerala Assembly Elections. The UDF defeated the CPI(M) led coalition (LDF) by a close margin of 75 to 65 seats and returned to power again under the leadership of Oommen Chandy and UDF Convenor Sri.
